Perhaps many of us remember since our childhood how badly we were looking forward to May 1st (May Day). Certainly it was connected with the official opening of the Yerevan Zoo. This year as well ASPB did not betrayour tradition of attending the opening of the Zoo which was specially honored by the visit of Yerevan Mayor, Taron Margaryan.
Inside the Zoo ASPB was allocated its own pavillion which was stationed next to the Cinereous Vulture cage, both to raise a profile of Endangered species in Armenia as well as to promote the annual Spring Alive campaign among wider public. The pavilion had on display a full range of informational flyers, stickers, pin-badges, calendars and a warm atmosphere typical to ASPB. It should be noted that a great number of zoo visitors of different ages gathered around the pavilion with joy and showed a great interest in ASPB’s activities and bird related information which they found in displayed information materials. In the pavillion we organized various quizzes which attracted a great number of children. They were keen to provide answers and receive small information products as little prizes in case of correct answers. By looking at children’s activity we are happy to note say that children’s love of nature has not diinished!
