“Armenia’s Wild Birds” Photo Contest is open

Armenian Society for the Protection of Birds (ASPB-BirdLife Partner in Armenia) announces the “Armenia’s Wild Birds” Photo Contest. The Photo Contest aims at promoting the science of ornithology, birdwatching (birding) and raising a live interest in birds and wildlife in general.

Results of the International Waterbird Census In Armenia (January 2013)

This is the 11th waterbird census in sequence which is held across the entire central Asian flyway and took place on a range of dates of January 2013. As the weather conditions were favorable at the time of counts, the census was successfully completed with little deviation from assigned schedule.

European Robin – Bird of 2013 Year in Armenia

A public survey campaign which the Armenian Society for the Protection of Birds (ASPB) has organized to name a bird symbolizing 2013 in Armenia is over. The competition included candidate bird species such as Cinereous Vulture, European Robin, Armenian Gull, European Goldfinch, Common Buzzard, Black-winged Stilt, European Roller, Common Swift, Great Crested Grebe and Eastern Rock Nuthatch.
